What you will do

• Lead the mechanical and electrical architecture of advanced probe cards, including MEMS and vertical probes.
• Perform SI/PI analysis to optimize impedance, crosstalk control, and power plane decoupling.
• Evaluate mechanical contact force distribution, probe alignment, and thermal expansion warpage.
• Execute lab validation using VNAs, TDR oscilloscopes, and wafer probers to quantify performance.
• Drive failure analysis (FA) for probe wear and optical alignment issues to implement corrective designs.
• Collaborate with Test, Product, and IC Design teams and manage external probe card vendors.

Requirements

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in probe card design or high-performance test fixture development.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
• Expertise using Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Time-Domain Reflectometry (TDR).
• Deep understanding of transmission line theory and RF/microwave principles.
• High proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or Creo) and FEA modeling.
• Must be based in the USA.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ATE platforms such as Advantest or Teradyne.
• Knowledge of metallurgy, micro-plating, or materials science related to contact physics.
• Experience with Python or MATLAB for automating data collection and analysis.
