What you will do
- Define and lead research programs in QEC tailored for dual-rail erasure qubits, focusing on code design and resource estimation.
- Collaborate with hardware, control, compiler, and architecture teams to co-design error correction schemes.
- Set technical direction for a research team, including scoping projects and establishing milestones.
- Mentor and grow junior scientists and interns to build a world-class QEC theory team.
- Advise the wider organization on the fault-tolerance roadmap and logical qubit milestones.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in quantum computing, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant specialization.
- 4+ years of relevant experience with a demonstrated research track record in QEC codes and fault-tolerant protocols.
- Proficiency in scientific programming (Python, Rust, Julia, MATLAB, C, C++).
- Experience leading research projects end-to-end and mentoring junior researchers.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining deep theoretical results to cross-functional audiences.
