What you will do

• Lead the design and operation of on-premises virtualization environments using QEMU/KVM and OpenNebula.
• Drive the strategic migration from VMware toward a KVM-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC) private cloud model.
• Manage distributed storage infrastructure, including the migration from TrueNAS to PowerFlex.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, Packer, and Ansible.
• Optimize monitoring and ensure the resilience of critical R&D environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform root-cause analysis to resolve systemic infrastructure issues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a large-scale production infrastructure environment.
• Expertise with hypervisor platforms, strongly preferring QEMU/KVM.
• Proficiency in Python for automation, tooling, and infrastructure scripting.
• Strong experience with IaC tools including Terraform, Packer, and Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Must be able to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint checks.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenStack or other open-source IaaS platforms.
• Experience with Dell PowerFlex, TrueNAS, or similar storage platforms.
• Experience with bare metal provisioning (Canonical MAAS, OpenStack Ironic, PXE).
• Experience with Rancher or on-premises Kubernetes platforms.
• Knowledge of Windows infrastructure: Active Directory, DNS, SMB/CIFS.
