What you will do

• Design, implement, validate, and sustain safety-related control systems, including required design and documentation deliverables.
• Generate and implement engineering changes (hardware, software, and documentation) to sustain ride and show control systems.
• Develop, document, analyze, test, and modify safety-related control and computing systems.
• Troubleshoot control systems to support downtime response and recovery, coordinating follow-up corrective actions.
• Review and validate vendor and peer engineering designs, installations/implementations, and test documentation.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA), document findings, and drive program/process improvements to reduce repeat downtime events.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Control Systems Engineering.
• Strong critical thinking and complex troubleshooting skills.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Experience generating risk assessments and related safety documentation (e.g., safety requirement specification, FMEA).
• Experience with Rockwell Automation products/software and PLCs/PACs/IPCs.
• Experience with motor control and VFDs, plus closed-loop motion control and servo systems.

Nice to have

• Theme park industry experience.
• Experience with Siemens S7 controllers/software and Beckhoff CX controllers/software (TwinCAT).
• Experience with network systems/components and version control (e.g., Git).
• Python development experience.
• Experience applying functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 12100, ISO 13849-1/2, IEC 62061, IEC 60204-1) and UL 508A/NEC/NFPA/ASTM F24.
