Android Test Automation Engineer

What you will do

• Design and enhance automated test suites for Android applications and platform components.
• Create automation to provision, configure, deploy, and validate software on physical Android prototype devices.
• Maintain and operate a physical Android device lab, including inventory and connectivity management.
• Integrate automated tests into existing CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with software engineering teams.
• Investigate automated test failures, identify root causes, and improve test reliability.
• Reproduce software defects using logs, crash reports, and telemetry data to support debugging.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering or SDET experience.
• 1+ years of experience developing automated tests for Android applications or devices.
• Strong programming experience in Kotlin, C++, or another strongly typed language.
• Experience provisioning and executing software on physical Android devices.
• Must be based in and able to work 5 days onsite in Redmond, WA.

Nice to have

• Experience working with Android Open Source Project (AOSP) or customized platforms.
• Experience validating software on prototype or pre-production hardware.
• Knowledge of Android application lifecycle and system architecture.
• Experience building automated testing infrastructure for physical device labs.
