TL;DR

Software Support Engineering Specialist I (Aerospace): Supporting the design, modification, and integration of software and hardware systems for flight training devices with an accent on simulator realism and regulatory compliance. Focus on troubleshooting complex anomalies, executing design implementation, and maintaining Master Qualification Test Guides (MQTGs).

What you will do

  • Design and integrate software/hardware modifications for flight training devices using established engineering standards.
  • Evaluate system requirements to improve training realism and resolve technical discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Translate technical requirements into workload estimates and perform scope analysis for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate initial and recurrent qualification activities to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain operational, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to entry-level and intermediate team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related technical discipline (or a two-year technical degree with equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience coordinating technical projects and work activities.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and/or Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of FORTRAN, C/C++, and/or Assembly programming languages.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks: lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders up to 30 feet.
  • Must be based in or able to work onsite in Orlando, USA.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree specifically in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience analyzing and implementing real-time flight simulation systems.
  • Knowledge of aerodynamics and physics.
  • Advanced project management experience.
  • Experience maintaining MQTGs and conducting QTG test runs.
