Project Manager (Defense): Managing a portfolio of R&D initiatives within the Technology and Product Development team with an accent on cost, schedule performance, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on executing complex R&D strategies, aligning engineering resources with project roadmaps, and ensuring compliance with DoD standards and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.

Location: Must be based in Tampa, USA. Only U.S. citizens are eligible due to government contract requirements.

What you will do

• Manage multiple R&D projects with complex funding profiles and maintain budget/forecasting accuracy.
• Align engineering resources with project schedules and execution needs.
• Serve as the primary interface between engineering, finance, procurement, and subcontracts.
• Monitor and control billing milestones and drive purchasing activities.
• Perform Control Account Management (CAM) duties within the SAFe execution context.
• Identify and mitigate risks to project costs and timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field (or PMP certification with equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Strong working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Expertise in Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and AzureDevOps.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.

Nice to have

• Background in DoD project and financial management.
• Experience writing proposals, SOWs, and contract documentation.
• Proficiency in Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development.
