Legal Counsel (Media)

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid (Madrid, Spain). Must be certified to practise law in Spain and eligible to work in Spain.

What you will do

• Draft and negotiate contracts for channel distribution, programme acquisitions, ad sales, and technical operations.
• Advise on broadcast regulations including content ratings, protection of minors, and European Works quotas.
• Coordinate with Government Affairs and Content Compliance teams on regulatory policy.
• Liaise with authorities such as CNMC and the Spanish AVMS registry to ensure compliance.
• Supervise and train the Associate Legal Counsel in Madrid.
• Collaborate with legal teams in London and Paris on ad-hoc matters.

Requirements

• Certified to practise law in Spain.
• Eligible to work in Spain.
• 5+ years of post-graduation legal experience.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property rights.
• Fluent English (C1+) and Spanish.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Intellectual Property or Audiovisual Law.
• Knowledge of French.
