Data Engineer

TL;DR

Data Engineer: Building and maintaining scalable cloud-based data platforms and integration solutions with an accent on ETL/ELT pipeline development and data quality optimization. Focus on designing robust data models, automating processes, and collaborating within an Agile environment to support enterprise-level reporting and analytics.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Reading, UK (Hybrid/Remote).

Salary: £300–£1000 per day.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
• Build and support scalable ETL/ELT processes and integration solutions.
• Design and maintain enterprise data platforms and datasets for reporting.
• Monitor pipeline performance and resolve data quality issues.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts, Software Engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements.
• Contribute to DataOps, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices.

Requirements

• Up to 2 years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or Analytics.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases.
• Proficiency in Python or other data-focused programming languages.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and database design.
• Familiarity with Git or version control systems.
• Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to work collaboratively in an Agile team.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure (AZ-900/DP-900) certifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks.
• Exposure to Power BI, APIs, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
