Quality Assurance Engineer (BESS/HIL)

What you will do

• Maintain, enhance, and scale automated testing frameworks for gigawatt-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems.
• Use Rust and Python test environments to identify and mitigate P99.9+ latency outliers in critical control operations.
• Manage Docker-based simulation models and HMI performance-testing environments.
• Execute HIL API integration tests for grid-forming applications and integrated system performance.
• Support live remote commissioning by troubleshooting Modbus, MQTT, and PostgreSQL integration issues.
• Lead technical workshops, mentor junior QA and systems engineers, and improve test coverage, reliability, and CI/CD efficiency.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in software QA, test engineering, energy storage, power systems, or industrial controls.
• Strong Python or similar object-oriented scripting experience for test automation and system simulation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git, Linux/Bash, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• SAFe certification or proven experience implementing and scaling SAFe product strategies.
• Advanced Rust, HIL testing, REST/GraphQL API validation, HMI/SCADA performance validation, Docker, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT Sparkplug B, MATLAB/Simulink, and Wireshark experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with BESS control algorithms, grid-forming inverters, primary frequency response, or power systems analysis.
