Software Test Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own the test infrastructure, quality standards, validation strategy, and architectural decisions for NeuraGym.
• Validate physics and sensor simulation, environments, scenarios, robot models, APIs, and simulation fidelity.
• Test training and evaluation workflows, including reinforcement learning, imitation learning, data generation, metrics, reproducibility, and performance.
• Design and maintain automated unit, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end test suites.
• Build scalable parallel and cloud-based validation tooling and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with simulation, robotics, AI, platform, and product engineers to reproduce defects, analyze root causes, and improve sim-to-real reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in software testing, test automation, or software engineering in test, preferably with robotics, simulation, or complex distributed systems.
• Strong Python programming and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with testing methodologies, pytest or BDD, CI/CD, Git, and Linux-based development environments.
• Familiarity with simulation environments such as Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Gazebo, or MuJoCo, plus robotics fundamentals, ROS/ROS2, sensors, kinematics, dynamics, and motion control.
• Strong analytical, debugging, systems-thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience validating ML/RL pipelines, SIL/HIL testing, sim-to-real validation, domain randomization, or synthetic data pipelines.
• Working knowledge of C++ and robotics communication protocols such as DDS, EtherCAT, or CAN.
• Experience with GPU workloads, performance profiling, stress testing, cloud infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed validation.
• Understanding of real-time systems, deterministic execution, and safety-related standards for robotic systems.
