Senior Backend Engineer: Offsite Search Optimisation

Responsibilities

• Build and own production backend services in Python.
• Work with data-heavy systems (analytics, metrics, logging).
• Monitor, alert, and debug user-facing systems.
• Ship maintainable software with tests, code reviews, and incremental delivery.

Requirements

• Strong experience building and owning production backend services in Python.
• Strong SQL skills and confidence working with data-heavy systems (analytics, metrics, logging).
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and debugging user-facing systems.
• Ability to ship maintainable software (tests, code review, incremental delivery).

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SEO fundamentals.
• Experience with APIs & auth (OAuth2, GA4 and Google Search Analytics API).
• Experience working with non-structured data (referrers, canonical URLs, page types).
• Experience building data integrations between products.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT workflows on PySpark.
