What you will do
- Lead the technical direction of generalizing the S&D data model to support all commodities.
- Evolve the shared ETL Framework into a reusable foundation for various commodity verticals.
- Ensure publication reliability using anomaly-detection guardrails and strict data-quality standards.
- Improve non-functional requirements including reliability, latency, observability, and security for Python and TypeScript services.
- Design and shape external and webapp data-distribution API contracts.
- Mentor mid-level engineers and lead technical design reviews (ADRs).
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer delivering production systems.
- Proven track record of owning technically ambiguous, business-critical projects end-to-end.
- Deep expertise in Python for data-intensive backends, relational data modelling, and SQL/Postgres.
- Experience with production ownership, including on-call, observability, and incident response.
- Ability to set technical direction and guide other engineers on complex design decisions.
- Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Athens, Greece
Nice to have
- Experience with Airflow and TypeScript/NestJS APIs.
- Exposure to domain data models in commodities, energy, finance, or logistics.
- Familiarity with data-quality or anomaly-detection approaches.
- Experience with IaC and GitOps tools such as Terraform, ArgoCD, and Kubernetes.
