What you will do
- Lead one or more backend engineering teams responsible for trust, fraud prevention, and risk-related services.
- Define technical roadmaps, delivery plans, and measurable engineering outcomes aligned with product and business priorities.
- Guide architecture and system-design reviews for scalable, secure, resilient, maintainable, and cost-efficient systems.
- Stay involved in technical execution through code reviews, targeted implementations, prototypes, and resolution of complex production issues.
- Modernize existing services and improve CI/CD, automated testing, observability, capacity planning, incident response, and operational reliability.
- Collaborate with Product, Business, Data Science, Operations, Risk, digital banking teams, and external partners to deliver fraud-protection capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant software engineering and technology experience, including significant engineering leadership and people management.
- Experience leading multiple backend teams, Engineering Managers, and senior individual contributors while delivering business-critical platforms at scale.
- Strong expertise in scalable backend services, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, databases, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with platform modernization, software development lifecycles, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, capacity planning, and site reliability engineering.
- Experience building secure systems handling sensitive data and business-critical decisions, with awareness of privacy, auditability, and regulatory requirements.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience in fraud prevention, risk management, digital banking, payments, AML, identity verification, chargeback protection, or financial technology.
- Experience in highly regulated technology environments.
