Senior Software Engineer (Fraud Prevention)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate reliable, low-latency fraud prevention services and APIs.
• Develop new fraud capabilities and improve existing production systems.
• Modernize Python services, shared patterns, development tooling, and engineering practices across the fraud platform.
• Design and operate AWS cloud-native architectures, including serverless and event-driven systems.
• Improve observability, testing, deployment practices, and operational reliability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product teams, and engineers; mentor engineers and establish maintainable patterns.

Requirements

• Strong experience building and operating production software systems.
• Deep proficiency in Python and experience building maintainable services and APIs.
• Experience with cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, distributed systems, event-driven systems, or serverless systems.
• Strong understanding of API design, system integration, reliability, and production observability.
• Ability to work in complex enterprise codebases and collaborate across engineering, data science, and product teams.
• Fluent written and oral English and authorization to work for any employer in the United States are required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, Kinesis, and S3.
• Experience with CloudFormation, SAM, Terraform, or CDK.
• Experience with banking, payments, fraud prevention, or high-volume financial systems.
• Experience with machine learning systems, real-time model inference, legacy platform integration, or C#/.NET, Java, or another strongly typed enterprise framework.
• Familiarity with modern Python dependency and build tooling such as UV.
