What you will do

• Design and build backend services supporting financial workflows and transaction processing using Java and JVM frameworks.
• Own features end-to-end, including data models, service APIs, and the Angular frontend.
• Build and maintain APIs used by internal services, external integrations, and the frontend.
• Contribute to architectural discussions for service-oriented and event-driven systems.
• Utilize AI-powered tools like Claude and Copilot to accelerate design, implementation, and code reviews.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and observability across the entire stack.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer in a production environment.
• Deep expertise in building backend services using Java and modern JVM frameworks.
• Experience with relational databases, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Working proficiency with TypeScript and a modern reactive frontend framework (Angular preferred).
• Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Professional experience using AI coding assistants (Claude, Copilot, Cursor) in a regular workflow.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated industries, such as financial services or cannabis.
