Studio Design Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Pasadena, California (Hybrid: 3+ days/week in office)

What you will do

• Create and finalize engineering criteria in collaboration with creative design teams.
• Develop unique technical solutions to resolve packaging issues while protecting design aesthetics.
• Utilize DFSS methodologies to manage design trade-offs regarding cost, mass, and assembly.
• Lead cross-functional surface and integration meetings to drive issue resolution.
• Support technical development of digital, clay, and VR/MR models.
• Benchmark competition to ensure integrated package competitiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in a related automotive engineering area.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
• Demonstrated proficiency in CAD, specifically Unigraphics (NX).
• Strong understanding of automotive engineering theory and manufacturing processes.
• High level of analytical ability for solving unusual or difficult technical problems.

Nice to have

• Coursework or experience in Statistics, Mechanics of materials, or Vehicle/occupant packaging.
• DFSS Black Belt Certification.
