What you will do

• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines processing raw claims data into standardized formats.
• Implement automated observability and monitoring to ensure high data quality.
• Produce privacy-preserving datasets while protecting PHI and PII.
• Draft technical designs and documentation for data systems.
• Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, and Product teams to define data specifications.
• Prioritize technical feedback from internal customers to iterate on data value.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• 4+ years of experience developing data models, pipelines, and analytical solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and advanced SQL (window functions, performance tuning).
• Experience with healthcare claims data (e.g., EDI 837/835, CMS datasets).
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT workflows and data engineering patterns.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS) and software engineering rigor (testing, version control).

Nice to have

• Experience with revenue cycle and healthcare payments.
• Background in payer-provider contracting.
• Experience handling sensitive data in regulated environments.
• Leadership experience in mentoring or onboarding contributors.
