Network Engineer (Defense)

TL;DR

Network Engineer (Cisco/C4ISR): Supporting networking initiatives for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs with an accent on military C4I systems and secure operational networks. Focus on configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN environments in contested defense sectors.

What you will do

• Configure, maintain, and monitor secure network environments, including Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs).
• Collaborate with U.S. Government network engineers and Cyber/IA teams for network setup, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Support Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) network environments.
• Test and configure Cisco networking technologies within lab and sandbox environments.
• Deploy and maintain network security and monitoring tools to support security initiatives.
• Create and update technical documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• Active U.S. national security clearance or ability to receive and maintain one.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in networking or IT infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Cisco networking devices (switches, routers, and firewalls).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, and switching.

Nice to have

• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or security certifications.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity monitoring tools like Splunk or Security Onion.
• Knowledge of IPSEC, 802.1X, and virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V).
• Exposure to protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, or VPN technologies.
