What you will do

• Test, inspect, and repair electrical components of locomotive systems and shop machinery.
• Maintain and repair alternators, generators, motors, AC/DC power control systems, and electrical cabinets.
• Perform preventative maintenance on shop equipment including drop tables and welding machinery.
• Troubleshoot electrical wiring, lighting, and battery systems.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and federal/state regulations in a safety-sensitive environment.

Requirements

• Must be able to report for duty at the designated work location in Springfield, MO.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without BNSF sponsorship.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to visually distinguish specific colors and differentiate between verbal and non-verbal sounds.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and at various heights.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
