What you will do
- Function as a senior technical engineer for Oracle Database platforms and associated application stacks.
- Lead Oracle Database upgrades, patching, and software deployments in customer environments.
- Conduct 3rd-line diagnostics, performance tuning, and root cause analysis for complex incidents.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and quality assurance for the support team.
- Engage directly with customers to manage priorities and provide technical recommendations.
- Identify inefficiencies and contribute to scripted maintenance and automated health checks.
Requirements
- Must have pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.
- Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration and patching.
- Proven experience installing and supporting software on Linux and Solaris.
- Hands-on deployment and support of Apache Tomcat-based applications.
- Practical experience using ITSM tools such as Ivanti or ServiceNow.
Nice to have
- Oracle Certification.
- Experience with Apache Web Server configuration.
- Unix/Linux shell scripting skills for automation.
- Understanding of networking concepts relevant to database support.
