What you will do

• Lead the technical direction for generalising the Supply & Demand data model across various commodity markets.
• Evolve the shared ETL Framework into a reusable foundation for all commodity verticals.
• Own end-to-end publication reliability, including anomaly detection and data quality gating.
• Optimize non-functional requirements such as latency, observability, and security for Python and TypeScript services.
• Design and maintain external data-distribution API contracts, ensuring versioning and backward compatibility.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and drive engineering alignment through design reviews and ADRs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems.
• Deep expertise in Python, relational data modelling, and SQL/Postgres.
• Proven track record of owning business-critical projects from design to production.
• Experience with production operations, including on-call rotations and incident response.
• Ability to set technical direction and lead design decisions for a team.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airflow, TypeScript, or NestJS.
• Domain knowledge in commodities, energy, finance, or logistics.
• Familiarity with IaC (Terraform, ArgoCD) and Kubernetes.
• Experience with data-quality and anomaly-detection approaches.
