What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team of 5-6 members.
• Partner with Product to define priorities and deliver the roadmap for core backend services.
• Drive technical excellence, architecture decisions, and operational maturity.
• Establish strong operational practices including on-call processes and incident management.
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools to improve software quality and delivery speed.
• Coordinate complex initiatives involving multiple engineering teams and external dependencies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.
• Strong background in object-oriented programming, preferably Java.
• Experience building and operating large-scale backend or distributed systems.
• Proven ability to deliver complex cross-team initiatives.
• Experience implementing operational excellence practices like on-call and postmortems.
• Experience driving adoption of modern AI development practices is highly desirable.
