Digital Forensics SME (Cybersecurity): Providing advanced digital forensics expertise to federal law-enforcement investigations and cybercrime cases with an accent on high-level analysis and the design of advanced forensic capabilities. Focus on driving complex forensic workflows, preparing court-admissible reports, and mentoring investigative teams to strengthen national security.

Location: Mostly remote, but must be able to occasionally visit locations in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia

What you will do

• Provide deep technical analysis for major federal law-enforcement investigations and cybercrime cases.
• Develop and deploy advanced forensic workflows and capabilities to address emerging threats and adversary tradecraft.
• Research and integrate new forensic technologies and methodologies into operational environments.
• Prepare detailed forensic reports, visualizations, and documents suitable for legal and intelligence proceedings.
• Ensure strict adherence to chain-of-custody and court-admissible forensic standards.
• Train and mentor investigators and mission partners on forensic methodology and digital-evidence handling.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of digital forensics experience supporting federal investigations and evidentiary workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Hands-on expertise in mobile and computer forensics, including memory forensics and disk forensics.
• High proficiency with forensic platforms such as EnCase, AXIOM, X-Ways, and Cellebrite.
• Must meet eligibility requirements for TS/SCI clearance and DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) suitability.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Forensic certifications such as CFCE, GCFE, EnCE, CCME, GASF, or GCFA.
• Experience with Python or PowerShell for forensic workflow automation.
• Active DHS Secret or above clearance.
