TL;DR
Head of Technology (Java/Fintech): Designing and delivering crypto-related payment products and fintech platforms with an accent on PIX integration and regulatory compliance in Brazil. Focus on building high-availability backend architectures, managing financial ledger systems, and liaising with the Central Bank of Brazil (BACEN).
Location: Must be based in Brazil (100% remote)

What you will do
- Own the architecture, design, and implementation of fintech and payment platforms, including real-time payment systems and ledger services.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of critical payment capabilities from initial design through production launch.
- Drive technical decisions regarding system resilience, security, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and troubleshoot production-grade Java (Spring Boot) services for mission-critical systems.
- Act as the technical representative in discussions with Banco Central do Brasil (BACEN).
- Lead regulatory certification activities and prepare technical evidence for audits.
Requirements
- Must be based in Brazil.
- Professional fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with proven technical leadership in large-scale systems.
- Proven experience implementing PIX from zero to production within a bank, fintech, or payment processor.
- Strong expertise in Java (Spring Boot), distributed systems, and high-availability backend architectures.
- Deep understanding of payment domain concepts, including transaction lifecycles, settlement, and reconciliation.
Nice to have
- Experience working directly with Banco Central do Brasil (BACEN) or equivalent financial regulators.
