What you will do
- Develop detection systems for autonomous driving issues across international markets, specifically for Japan.
- Lead and mentor a software engineering team, fostering technical excellence and ownership.
- Build tools for fleet monitoring to support scaling, new software roll-outs, and new geographies.
- Collaborate with Data Science, Mapping, and Onboard Software teams to resolve system bottlenecks.
- Lead strategic investments to enhance diagnostic signals across various Operational Design Domains (ODDs).
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5-7+ years of experience building scalable, reliable, and performant software systems.
- 1-2+ years of experience managing and mentoring software engineering teams.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, and SQL, with strong system design capabilities.
- Professional or native-level fluency in both Japanese and English required.
- Must be based in Tokyo, Japan for onsite work.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with driving dynamics and road environments in Tokyo, Japan.
- Experience in mapping, localization, geospatial engineering, or high-volume data pipelines.
- Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or GIS industries.
