Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States. The role involves access to ITAR-controlled information and requires being a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud and on-premises infrastructure using infrastructure as code.
• Deploy, update, and scale mission-critical services using reliability and operational best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to build highly available, deployable, and reliable software products.
• Reduce operational toil through automation, tooling, and self-service platforms.
• Design security controls, uphold security standards, and proactively mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Lead reliability, security, and resiliency initiatives that shape platform strategy and support spacecraft software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a STEM discipline, or 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, or DevOps.
• Deep experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• At least 3 years of experience with infrastructure-as-code deployment processes.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Solid understanding of networking and Linux internals.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR or be otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• Experience managing application deployment workflows and highly available core infrastructure.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing, aerospace, or adjacent environments.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other infrastructure-as-code tools across the full deployment lifecycle.
• Experience with mission-critical and sensitive systems.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or a similar language.
• Experience driving technical strategy and influencing across teams.
