Sr. Site Reliability Engineer, Playout (Kubernetes)

Location: Miami, Florida, United States. Hybrid schedule requiring work from the office at least four days per week; the company may change in-office requirements. External candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview.

What you will do

• Engineer, deploy, operate, support, and maintain core Distribution Engineering playout systems across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Develop automated provisioning, upgrading, monitoring, and CI/CD deployment methods for infrastructure and playout software.
• Design proof-of-concept deployments, evaluate software releases, and develop future products and services for IP video distribution.
• Identify single points of failure and implement scalable, reliable architectures and monitoring improvements.
• Drive production release cycles, change management, broadcast investigations, and timely reporting to leadership and operations.
• Mentor SREs on DevOps practices and provide 24/7 rotating on-call support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong experience with IP video, streaming, and broadcast technologies.
• 5+ years of experience deploying and maintaining modern infrastructure, including 5+ years with enterprise configuration management and automation platforms such as Ansible or Terraform.
• Expertise architecting and configuring hosted cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure; networking and cloud-based network environments; and containerization with Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD build and deployment practices and administering Linux environments.
• Experience with multiple scripting languages, such as Python, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, or Bash.
• Automation-first mindset, Agile project management and tracking experience, and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment where requirements change quickly.
• AI literacy, including identifying opportunities to apply AI to monitoring, automation, problem management, and reliability improvement, with appropriate validation, security, and responsible use of AI-generated outputs.

Nice to have

• Experience with varied software and hardware operating environments, monitoring and logging tools, and DevSecOps principles.
• Strong communication, design, problem-solving, ownership, and issue-resolution skills.
• Ability to create user interface designs based on client workflows.
