Drilling Geologist

TL;DR

Drilling Geologist (Geology/Mining): Supervising drilling and monitoring programs and implementing groundwater programs with an accent on hydrogeological field data collection and technical reporting. Focus on supporting contaminant transport assessments, groundwater impact assessments, and remedial planning for mining and industrial projects.

Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Canada (Whitehorse, YT)

Salary: $75,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Supervise borehole drilling, monitoring well installation, and hydrogeological field programs.
• Conduct groundwater sampling, tracer studies, pumping tests, and packer tests.
• Develop groundwater conceptual and numerical models using software like MODFLOW and FEFLOW.
• Analyze groundwater data and prepare factual and interpretive technical reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals and support remedial planning.
• Monitor and promote environmental health and worker safety on-site.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
• Must hold or be eligible for P.Geo or P.Eng designation within 1 year.
• 1–3 years of experience in consulting or the mining industry, specifically in drilling supervision.
• Willingness to travel for field programs in remote locations throughout BC and Yukon.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical report writing.
