Electrical Engineer Intern (Oil & Gas)

Location: Fully remote or Lakewood, Colorado; applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What you will do

• Support multidisciplinary engineering teams on oil and gas power delivery projects.
• Assist with substation, transmission and distribution, and behind-the-meter power system design.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, equipment arrangements, connection details, bills of materials, grounding plans, conduit plans, and illumination plans.
• Build computer-based models and perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, grounding, arc flash, harmonics, and system loss analysis.
• Prepare project documents, cost estimates, budget reports, and engineering studies.
• Research applicable electrical codes and standards and follow safety requirements.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an accredited institution; an electric power focus is preferred.
• Relevant engineering coursework or project experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis is required.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds; travel is minimal at 0–5%.
