What you will do

• Perform histological preparations for the tissue whole exome sequencing laboratory with high precision.
• Execute tissue preparation, create stained slides, and perform macrodissection.
• Monitor case management to ensure all samples are processed within department TAT goals.
• Participate in validations and qualifications of reagents and equipment.
• Update and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and document corrective actions.
• Provide general oversight of personnel and guidance to new team members.

Requirements

• Associate's or higher degree in a histotechnician program or chemical/biological sciences.
• HT (ASCP) certification is required.
• 0-2 years of professional experience.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Austin, TX.
• Must pass a post-offer criminal background check.
• Completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training within 30 days of hire.
