What you will do

• Build and lead the Managed Gateways SRE team in Toronto from the ground up.
• Act as a direct contributor to critical implementations and reliability work in the early stages.
• Architect and implement scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native systems using Kubernetes and Golang.
• Own the end-to-end operational lifecycle, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Drive operational efficiency through automation and self-service tooling for API gateway management.
• Define and report on key SLOs and SLIs to ensure service resilience.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and managing SRE or DevOps teams in high-growth environments.
• Deep expertise in operating highly available distributed systems on major cloud platforms.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production.
• Proficiency in Golang or similar modern languages for infrastructure automation.
• Strong understanding of observability principles and tools like Prometheus or Grafana.
• Demonstrated ability to manage critical incidents and perform root cause analysis.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with API gateway technologies, service mesh, or network proxies.
• Experience with open-source contributions or active participation in SRE communities.
• Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications.
• Background in developer tools, infrastructure software, or API management companies.
