Commercial Finance Lead (IT)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Newbury, UK (Hybrid: 2-3 days per week in office)

What you will do

• Act as the primary finance partner for IT and Digital functions, overseeing end-to-end technology spend and investment.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes to ensure alignment with commercial outcomes.
• Drive cost efficiency and optimization initiatives while maintaining high delivery quality.
• Provide financial analysis, variance reporting, and proactive risk identification to senior stakeholders.
• Ensure robust financial control frameworks and governance across technology operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology, Finance, and Procurement teams to enhance data transparency.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK and able to work in the Newbury office 2-3 days per week.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong experience in financial planning, forecasting, and managing complex cost bases within technology or digital functions.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive accountability in a matrix organization.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
• Experience with finance systems such as Oracle.
