UI Designer (Design Systems)

TL;DR

UI Designer (Design Systems): Create and maintain a large-scale design system for hirify.global’s D2C digital platforms across mobile and app, with an accent on component architecture, interaction design, and accessibility. Focus on building Figma-based design system components and asset libraries, managing design tokens and documentation, and partnering with UX, developers, and product managers to drive adoption during a rebrand.

Location: London (Hybrid — minimum 50% of working time per month in the office; initial period of full-time office working for new starters)

What you will do

• Create design system components in Figma, applying interaction design and UI best practices.
• Design responsive, accessible UI that balances usability with delightful user experiences.
• Maintain the design system by producing component documentation and managing design tokens.
• Apply design systems thinking to improve reusability and contribute to design system documentation.
• Support design system strategy and decision-making across platforms, and influence adoption with cross-functional partners.
• Communicate design rationale clearly and collaborate iteratively with UX designers, developers, and product managers.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a UX/UI role.
• Strong understanding of front-end practices and atomic design principles.
• Excellent Figma skills, including auto layout, components, variables, and managing libraries.
• Must be able to hand over designs to development (handoff experience is required).
• Experience designing with WCAG/A11y guidelines in mind.
• Hybrid working in London with at least 50% of time in the office per month; new starters complete an initial full-time office period.
