Solution Architect (Defence)

TL;DR

Solution Architect (Defence): Designing and maintaining the overall architecture for large-scale border control systems with an accent on interoperability, security, and scalability. Focus on defining architectural standards, integrating complex distributed components, and providing technical leadership for development teams within a European institutional project.

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Warsaw, Poland. Hybrid work model with 8 weeks of remote work outside the usual geographical area per year.

What you will do

• Define and maintain the overall system architecture, translating business and technical requirements into robust designs.
• Design system interoperability and integration patterns for distributed components and external platforms.
• Establish architectural governance, standards, and best practices while evaluating new technologies.
• Support software development planning, estimation, and change management processes.
• Produce technical documentation and provide leadership through mentoring and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

• Higher education degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in software development, including at least 2 years in architecture for large-scale enterprise systems.
• Proven expertise in SOA, ESB, and microservices architectures.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, Apache Kafka, GraphQL, and Redis.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and leading technical discussions.
