Field Service Technician

TL;DR

Field Service Technician: Performing installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of mission-critical naval power equipment with an accent on diesel engines, electrical controls, and complex mechanical systems. Location: Must be based in or near National City, CA. Role requires up to 75% travel (domestic and occasional international).

Salary: $35.68 – $44.60 per hour.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair complex equipment including diesel engines, electrical controls, cranes, and davits.
• Perform scheduled and emergency service visits with a focus on first-time fixes.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide repair processes.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, expense reports, and administrative records.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to provide clear updates on service timelines.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain company tools and vehicles.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required (must meet NOFORN requirements).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in a technical field plus 4 years of experience OR 4+ years of relevant military/industry experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a U.S. Passport within 3 months.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with diesel or gas engine systems and testing equipment.
• Understanding of gas compression systems and related safety considerations.
