What you will do

• Define and own the Engineering-wide Quality Engineering vision, strategy, and implementation roadmap.
• Lead, coach, and develop a community of Test Engineers across software, mobile core, networks, and infrastructure.
• Establish common standards for test strategies, automation, and release readiness evidence.
• Partner with SRE, Architecture, and Delivery leads to improve release safety via risk-based testing and automated verification.
• Implement transparent metrics for escaped defects, change failure rates, and regression cycle times to drive improvement.
• Strengthen governance and auditability to meet compliance and internal risk management expectations.

Requirements

• Deep practical experience in Quality Engineering leadership and shaping strategy across multiple domains.
• Strong expertise in risk-based testing, automation strategy, and various testing types (API, contract, performance, resilience).
• Proven experience with modern delivery practices including Agile, Lean, DevSecOps, and CI/CD.
• Ability to lead and develop engineering teams, including performance management and career pathing.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to align technical and non-technical leaders on quality trade-offs.
• Must be based in the UK and able to work in a hybrid setup in Reading.
