Venture Lead - Payments

Full-time/Company: RootstockLabs

RootstockLabs builds Bitcoin-secured DeFi infrastructure that enables companies and financial institutions to offer borrowing, lending, investment, and payment solutions at global scale. This role will launch a payments venture on Rootstock (Bitcoin's EVM-compatible sidechain) and turn protocol-level technology into a portfolio of payment products.

Applicants must be located in Europe or Latin America.

Responsibilities:

- Define and execute the product portfolio roadmap across multiple payment verticals
- Validate product-market fit through customer discovery, pilots, and design partnerships
- Build, structure, and lead a dedicated product-engineering squad
- Represent the venture externally at conferences, partner meetings, and ecosystem conversations
- Align with R&D on underlying protocol capabilities and upcoming rollouts
- Deliver foundational platform launches within 6–18 months
- Drive commercial traction: early partners, distribution channels, and revenue paths

Requirements:

- 3–7 years in payments/remittances/fintech; crypto experience is a must
- Hands-on experience building crypto payment products
- Strong understanding of Bitcoin and EVM ecosystems
- Fluent across product strategy, customer discovery, and partnerships
- Familiarity with agentic/AI-driven payment flows or programmable money
- Experience incubating and scaling a product
- Startup speed: ships fast, prioritizes ruthlessly, and is comfortable with ambiguity
