What you will do

• Design and scale backend systems for data infrastructure, including event-driven pipelines and APIs.
• Lead the design and integration of new services for data and event processing.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to design integrations for scaling the data platform.
• Draft RFCs to guide complex feature discovery and technical design phases.
• Improve operational robustness via new documentation, tools, and dashboards based on stakeholder feedback.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• 2+ years focused on data engineering, data platforms, or data-centric infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and production experience with PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with data streaming tools such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or Amazon Kinesis.
• Proficiency in Julia, Python, or R.
• Experience with Kubernetes and IaC tools like Terraform or Helm.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Julia.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js) for API integration work.
