What you will do

• Design and scale core data infrastructure, including event-driven pipelines and centralized repositories.
• Develop and maintain APIs that enable scientific and clinical data usage across the platform.
• Lead technical design phases and draft RFCs for complex feature discovery.
• Collaborate with platform and application teams to integrate new services and components.
• Improve operational robustness through documentation, tooling, and dashboards.
• Ensure high standards for data integrity and system maintainability.

Requirements

• Must be based in the US
• 5+ years of backend development experience, with 2+ years in data engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and production experience with PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with data streaming tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Amazon Kinesis.
• Proficiency in a data-oriented language such as Python, Julia, or R.
• Experience deploying services in containerized environments using Kubernetes and IaC tools like Terraform.

Nice to have

• Experience with Julia.
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js) for API integration.
