What you will do

• Lead design reviews, DFMEA, DVP&R, and safety review processes throughout the NPD lifecycle to mitigate quality risks.
• Define and govern the design verification and validation (DVP&R) strategy in alignment with regulatory standards.
• Direct critical analysis of engineering changes (ECNs) to prevent product performance degradation.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of engineers in validation methodologies and quality standards.
• Partner with Supply Chain and Manufacturing leadership to establish process controls and quality gates.
• Own supplier quality escalations, 8D responses, and CAPA governance for design or process gaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Quality, or Product Development Engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in design verification and validation within the consumer goods industry.
• 1-2+ years of experience managing engineers or leading cross-functional project teams.
• Deep expertise in DFMEA, DVP&R, and engineering change management.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite 5 days a week in Needham, MA.
• Strong executive communication skills and proficiency in root-cause analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-volume, rapid NPD cycles at a consumer goods company.
• Familiarity with supplier quality processes including PPAP and incoming quality controls.
• Exposure to human factors engineering or usability validation methods.
