What you will do
- Lead end-to-end design and development of complex hardware circuit packs, including design alternatives and component selection within cost, power, and real-estate budgets.
- Perform schematic capture, assess signal integrity, and guide PCB layout for high-quality, high-performance hardware.
- Coordinate PCB fabrication and circuit pack assembly with operations.
- Validate design interfaces against component and commercial requirements to ensure compliance.
- Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues during development and production; draw on expertise from other teams as needed.
- Author design documentation, run design milestone meetings, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Location: onsite in Kanata (Ottawa)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of hardware design experience.
- Proven experience as a design lead for high layer-count circuit packs; familiarity with CPU/networking devices, FPGA, timing devices, DDR, PCIe, and FLASH memory.
- Expertise in analog and digital circuit design and testing, including amplifiers, filters, comparators, data converters, and electro-optics control loops.
- Experience designing power conversion circuits and sensitive low-noise circuitry.
- Experience with design validation using lab measurement techniques and test equipment; ability to parse datasheets and extract design/verification criteria.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and layout tools such as Cadence Concept and Allegro (or equivalent EDA software).

Salary: $77,500 - $164,500 (annual)
