What you will do

• Create and integrate high-quality special effects based on game design documents and artistic direction.
• Research and validate reference imagery and videos with the artistic director to align on creative goals.
• Collaborate with Technical Directors and programmers to adapt pipelines and develop custom tools.
• Utilize particle systems, modeling, and texturing tools to implement effects within the game engine.
• Continuously optimize special effects to ensure high quality while respecting memory and performance budgets.
• Resolve bugs and provide technical support and reference documentation to other working units.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in creating special effects for video games, including design, integration, and optimization.
• Proficiency with game editors (e.g., Unreal) and composition software such as Houdini, After Effects, or Illustrator.
• College diploma or bachelor’s degree in a video game-related field, special effects, or film.
• Strong attention to detail, proactivity, and the ability to work under pressure.
• Proven ability to accept feedback and adapt to change in a production environment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of and interest in programming languages, specifically Max Script.
