What you will do

• Design and craft character effects such as cloth and fur simulations.
• Develop generalized tools for the Character FX pipeline to improve efficiency.
• Create cloth and hair simulations, prop animation, and animation cleanup for production shots.
• Solve technical problems independently to achieve specific art direction.
• Expand upon provided art direction using personal artistic vision.
• Perform technical animation, deformations, and procedural modeling.

Requirements

• Excellent eye for motion and solid understanding of animation principles.
• Proficiency in Maya and Houdini.
• Scripting skills in Python and Mel.
• Must be based in or able to work from Glendale, CA (Hybrid: 4 days/week in office).
• Strong communication and independent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and proceed with objectives without direct supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience with rigging tools and surface modeling techniques.
• Background in dynamic simulation.
• Previous production experience.
