Python Developer (AI)

Location: Remote from anywhere in the world, or from offices in Kyiv, Lviv, or Warsaw.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Python backend services for enterprise AI infrastructure used by financial institutions.
• Develop asynchronous APIs and backend components with FastAPI.
• Design PostgreSQL data models, write and optimize SQL, and improve indexing, query planning, transactions, and performance.
• Apply systems fundamentals including Linux, networking, concurrency, profiling, debugging, memory management, and scalability.
• Make architecture decisions, maintain code quality, implement testing and observability, and follow deployment best practices.
• Own work end to end, communicate directly with technical founders, and review AI-assisted code carefully.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial experience as a Python Backend Developer, preferably with FastAPI and asynchronous development.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills, including data modeling, SQL, indexing, query planning, transactions, and performance tuning.
• Strong systems fundamentals: Linux, networking basics, concurrency, profiling, debugging, memory, and scalability.
• Architecture judgment covering maintainable code, testing, observability, and deployment best practices.
• End-to-end ownership and clear direct communication with technical founders.
• Daily use of AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, with strong code-understanding and review habits.
• English at Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher.

Nice to have

• MCP, AI agents, agent observability, or AI memory experience.
• Identity management experience with Entra ID, OAuth2, or OIDC.
• Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Go experience for CLI tooling or microservices.
• React, TypeScript, or Node.js experience.
