Senior Python Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, with locations listed as Kyiv and Warsaw

What you will do

• Build and optimize a Python/FastAPI backend working with PostgreSQL.
• Own features end to end, including scoping, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks and make architecture decisions focused on reliability and scalability.
• Work directly with technical founders to discuss requirements, propose solutions, and communicate progress.
• Identify and implement improvements across the product and infrastructure.
• Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex with strong review and verification.

Requirements

• Strong production Python experience with backend services and APIs; FastAPI is preferred.
• Solid PostgreSQL expertise, including schema and data modeling, SQL, indexing, query planning, transaction behavior, and performance tuning.
• Systems engineering fundamentals covering Linux and server environments, networking basics, concurrency, resource utilization, reliability, profiling, and debugging.
• Sound architecture and engineering judgment covering maintainable code, testing, observability, deployment, and scalability.
• Ability to independently scope, implement, validate, and ship features, with comfort working in ambiguity.
• Practical and effective use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar.
• Clear communication and English sufficient for daily direct work with the founders.
• Initiative, curiosity, accountability, and a startup mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with Model Context Protocol, AI agents, agent observability or tracing, or AI memory systems.
• Identity management experience, such as Microsoft Entra ID.
• Kubernetes, containers, cloud infrastructure, or infrastructure automation experience.
• Go experience for CLI tooling.
• React and TypeScript experience, or Node.js familiarity.
