Location: Must be based in Burnaby, Canada

Salary: 104,000 – 183,000 CAD per year

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and characterize cryogenic RF networks including transmission lines and filters.
  • Model and simulate RF performance using industry-standard measurement and simulation tools.
  • Develop validation plans and perform laboratory testing to troubleshoot and improve hardware designs.
  • Select materials and manufacturing approaches for PCBs and interconnects in cryogenic environments.
  • Collaborate with quantum scientists and IC designers to integrate RF systems into quantum platforms.
  • Partner with external vendors to support prototype development and production activities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of RF/microwave engineering, passive devices, and transmission line theory.
  • Experience with RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
  • Proficiency in EM simulation, circuit simulation, and PCB design tools like HFSS, ADS, or Altium.
  • Hands-on experience in prototyping, debugging, and troubleshooting RF hardware and PCB assemblies.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada and based in Burnaby.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cryogenic systems and low-temperature measurements.
  • Knowledge of superconducting materials and circuit design.
  • Understanding of RF noise analysis and modeling.
  • Programming experience in Python, Julia, or C/C++.
