Assistant Accountant

What you will do

• Prepare monthly management accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and journal postings.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting for senior management.
• Process bank transactions and maintain fixed asset registers.
• Support VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or Finance Assistant role.
• AAT qualified and currently studying towards or willing to start ACCA/CIMA.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and confidence working with financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
• Strong communication skills for building relationships across the business.
• Must be based in or able to work in Leeds.
