Software Engineer (Java/Spring Boot)

What you will do

• Develop and enhance Java/Spring Boot backend services, microservices, APIs, and integrations for consumer billing journeys.
• Write, test, maintain, and release reliable code while contributing to design discussions, code reviews, and technical refinement.
• Support deployment and operation of billing services in AWS and EKS, including monitoring, troubleshooting, resilience, and incident resolution.
• Develop application components interacting with Oracle Database and maintain dependencies with the NetCracker RBM instance.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Architecture, Operations, and engineering teams to maintain billing flows and service continuity.

Requirements

• Experience developing, testing, and supporting backend services and APIs with Java and Spring Boot.
• Understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, integration patterns, and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with coding, debugging, testing, release support, and defect resolution within an engineering team.
• Able to work as part of a co-located engineering team in Belfast.

Nice to have

• AWS and EKS/Kubernetes experience.
• Oracle Database, SQL, data access, and performance knowledge.
• CI/CD, deployment automation, production support, and incident management experience.
• Enterprise billing platform or NetCracker RBM experience.
• AI-assisted development tools or other AI technologies in software engineering.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent technical qualification.
