What you will do

• Scale a high-performing engineering organization and cultivate a culture of technical rigor, accountability, and trust.
• Lead strategic recruiting efforts to attract and retain top-tier talent in the Web3 and fintech spaces.
• Translate business objectives into a multi-year technical roadmap in partnership with the C-level executive team.
• Act as the primary technical liaison with critical partners, including Visa, issuing banks, and payment processors.
• Establish architectural guardrails and oversee the evolution of the core Go and TypeScript-based infrastructure.
• Implement and enforce modern SDLC processes, automated testing strategies, and incident response frameworks.

Requirements

• Proven track record as CTO or VP of Engineering in a scaling fintech or Web3 organization (50–200+ people).
• Deep expertise in card scheme rails (Visa/Mastercard), including authorizations, clearing, settlement, and dispute resolution.
• Strong architectural understanding of Go and TypeScript.
• Practical mastery of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and backend refactoring in high-throughput environments.
• Familiarity with Web3 infrastructure, smart contracts, self-custody wallets, and DeFi primitives.
• Must be based in Germany or Portugal.
